Message from the superintendent header

March 10, 2023

Dear Monroe-Woodbury families and staff,

I am writing with a snow day update and a change to the student schedule for May 2023.

Snow Day Update

As we eagerly await the sunshine and warm temperatures of spring, we may have some wintry weather to navigate in the days ahead. To date we have utilized three of the district’s four allotted snow days for the 2022-2023 school year. If one more day is used, there will be no remaining snow days in the current schedule.

If a fifth snow day is required, classroom instruction would be conducted remotely, which prevents us from having to take days away from Spring Recess. If remote instruction is necessary, building principals would provide specific information regarding students’ daily schedules. In general, student schedules would follow a regular school day.

All students should take their devices home each day to ensure they are prepared for remote learning.

Tuesday, May 16, is now a Superintendent’s Conference Day

The district’s annual budget vote day, Tuesday, May 16, will now be a Superintendent’s Conference Day. Schools will be closed. This allows us to safely conduct the public budget vote in Central Valley Elementary School.

We will be in touch as we monitor the ever-changing forecast and make decisions in the best interest of our students, families and staff.

Warm regards,

Elsie Rodriguez

Superintendent of Schools
