Feedback for ARPA funding graphic

Monroe-Woodbury Central School District has been allocated Federal funding as part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). All current investments of ARPA funds have been selected based on the needs of the District and various stakeholder input.

As of January 27, 2023, the ARPA funding has been approved to cover the following expenses:

  • Student support staff, including two guidance counselors, two school psychologists and one social worker to provide social and emotional support to our students;

  • A robust and comprehensive summer school program in the summer of 2021 and 2022;

  • Home instruction for children quarantined because of the pandemic;

  • Long-term substitute teachers to ensure continuity of instruction;

  • Repairs to our pool facilities;

  • A variety of security initiatives, including installation of classroom door locks, and safety film on vestibule entrances; and School Resource Officer (SRO) coverage in school buildings; and

  • Facility improvements that enhance instructional spaces, including building and grounds equipment, HVAC controls and enhancements, and facilities upgrades in various instructional spaces.
