Dear Monroe-Woodbury Central School District Community,

After 39 years in education, I am announcing my retirement from the position of Superintendent at the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District effective August 31, 2024. It has been my privilege to serve the members of this community for the past 23 years.

My journey in Monroe-Woodbury began at the Middle School in 2001. The experiences and memories from those early days have been the foundation of my deep connection to the District. I am immensely grateful to the Middle School staff who not only shaped my beginnings, but also played a crucial role in making this District my home for the next two decades.

To the entire staff, whose dedication and excellence have been the driving force behind the success of our District, I extend my deepest appreciation. It has been my distinct honor to have witnessed many of your children grow up, graduate and go on to make a positive impact on our society. Your commitment to providing an exceptional education to our students has made Monroe-Woodbury a beacon of excellence.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my tenure has been witnessing the growth of young students into remarkable educators here in Monroe-Woodbury. Seeing the impact of our collective efforts in shaping the next generation of educators has brought me great joy.

A heartfelt thank you to the amazing students who have made this work most rewarding. Your enthusiasm, curiosity and achievements have been a constant source of inspiration and pride. Thank you to our parents for entrusting your children to us and for supporting our district. Thank you to our PTA/SEPTA volunteers for advocating for all children.

I look forward to this next chapter in my life. I am very fortunate and blessed to have worked with such an outstanding group of people.

With sincere gratitude,

Elsie Rodriguez
Superintendent of Schools
