On Thursday, February 1, members of the Monroe-Woodbury chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competed at the 2023-2024 NYS FBLA District elimination event at Monroe-Woodbury High School. Students from eight schools from surrounding counties participated in the competition. M-W student, Diya Mangatt, who serves as current NYS FBLA State President, presided over the event. 

Congratulations to the following M-W students who placed in many events:  

  • Swathi Sathiyamoorthy - 1st in Introduction to FBLA; 2nd in Introduction to Financial Math
  • Connor Santaiti - 1st in Introduction to Public Speaking
  • Sanjita Raja - 2nd in Client Service
  • Shreya Girsch - 2nd in Job Interview
  • Rachel Sanchez - 2nd in Introduction to Decision Making
  • Siddhardth Ranganathan - 3rd for Sports Management
  • John Paul Hanna - 3rd for Business Calculations
  • Ella Cherian - 4th in Impromptu Speaking
  • Anya Malhotra - 5th in Business Law

Shout out to our hardworking MWMS competitors as well: 

  • Matthew Campbell - 1st in Elevator Speech and Financial Literacy
  • Carly Robledo-Moses - 1st in FBLA Concepts.
