North Main Elementary had the honor of welcoming celebrated author and illustrator Angela Dominguez for a special visit. Born in Mexico City and raised in North Texas, Angela is the creative force behind numerous acclaimed children’s books, including the beloved Stella Díaz series. She is a New York Times Bestseller, a Sid Fleischman Humor Award winner, and a two-time Pura Belpré Illustration Honoree.

During her visit, Ms. Dominguez captivated students with the story of her journey from a young girl learning English as a second language to a celebrated voice in children’s literature. She shared insights into both her writing and illustration process, encouraging students to explore their own creativity. Her engaging presentation empowered students to see reflections of their own experiences in her work, encouraging them to follow their dreams!
