Monroe-Woodbury Central School District recognizes school buses where students demonstrate characteristics of a true Crusader: respectful, compassionate and well behaved. These buses represent a collaborative effort by students, drivers and attendants who work as a team to keep the bus safe.

“My students have shown tremendous improvement since September, especially considering that some had no experience riding a school bus. My students have gone from not being familiar with safety rules to boarding and exiting the bus quickly and safely, as directed. They understand my code word which requires them to stop talking and pay close attention. They respect one another and this allows us to enjoy celebrating birthdays, holidays and special occasions, including decorating the bus within proper guidelines. I take great pride in saying that my K-1 kids can even operate the bus radio, in case of an emergency. I’m also proud to know from other drivers that they are well behaved and put on their seatbelts without being told. It will be wonderful to have them recognized for such commendable knowledge and behavior on Bus 604.”

They get along with one another and enjoy their ride to and from school every day. They understand the importance of safety on the bus not only to themselves but to their friends as well.
