Congratulations to MWHS Drama Club members Tyler Landusky and Josh Gorlin on their performance in the 2025 Roger Rees Awards, which were held on Monday, May 19. These awards celebrate the best High School Musical Theatre performances across all of New York State. Eighty high schools participated leading to approximately 400 eligible students. The top 50 performers attended three days of workshops and training and performed at the Roger Rees Awards.
Gorlin was selected due to his performance as Archibald Craven in the MWHS production of “The Secret Garden.” Landusky, whose performance as Dickon in “The Secret Garden” led him to the top 6, performed in front of a panel of industry professional judges.
MWHS Drama Club’s Director Mr. Kaplan said, “This was the MWHS Drama Club’s first year participating and it was an incredible honor to be one of four schools to have two students make it to the top 50. We are so proud of Tyler and Josh, and so excited to see their dedication, hard work and passion for telling stories recognized and honored.
Bravo, Tyler and Josh!
