Dear Monroe-Woodbury families,
At the February 4 meeting, the Monroe-Woodbury Board of Education unanimously approved to appoint Bryan Bellino and Monique Officer as trustees. Both Mr. Bellino and Mrs. Officer will serve, in the vacant seats, until the upcoming board election on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
For the Board, these appointments represent more than a simple fulfillment of vacancies; they are a strategic integration of community leaders, with specialized expertise, who are deeply invested in the academic success of our students and operational success of our schools.
Mr. Bellino is a resident of Monroe and a parent of two Monroe-Woodbury students. In addition, Mr. Bellino’s wife is a teacher in the district so he sees the impact of Board decisions firsthand. He has more than two decades of community-focused technology and leadership experience in the construction industry. Mr. Bellino brings strategic planning, budgeting awareness, policy implementation, community engagement and leadership skills to the board.
In a statement to the Board, Mr. Bellino said, “I am committed to supporting the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District by contributing my leadership experience, technical expertise, and dedication to student success. I aim to help ensure responsible use of district resources, promote transparency, and support ongoing improvements that benefit all students, educators, and families.”
Mrs. Officer has been a staple of the Monroe community for 18 years. As a local business owner and a parent of a Monroe-Woodbury student, she understands the day-to-day realities of our families. She has 17 years of finance and accounting experience. Mrs. Officer brings practical experience in budgeting, operations, problem-solving and fiscal accountability to the board.
Her statement to the Board read, “I am deeply committed to ensuring that students have access to a high-quality education in a safe and supportive environment. I value collaboration with educators, administrators, families and community members to make thoughtful decisions that reflect both student needs and long-term interests of the district. My goal is to be a responsible advocate for students and families while contributing to policies that strengthen both our schools and community.”
The Board of Education is thrilled to have these two community leaders join the Board and looks forward to collaborating with them in supporting all Monroe-Woodbury students. Their skills and dedication will strengthen our board and add fresh perspectives to our shared mission. On behalf of the Board of Education, please join me in extending a warm Crusader welcome to our new trustees.
Sincerely,
Kaytlin Simmons, Esq.
President
Monroe-Woodbury Board of Education
