There’s nothing “mid” about MWMS, as Superintendent Norman learned during his recent Super Sub assignment. Filling in for teacher Stephanie Armano, Dr. Norman quickly learned to navigate the school's four "houses"—Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green—which guide hallway traffic.
His day began with first period hall duty, collaborating with security and staff to ensure student safety and monitor hallways. He adjusted to the fast-paced, three-minute passing periods while engaging students in conversation—from his favorite basketball team to learning each “house” layout.
Superintendent Norman then moved to the library to co-teach with Mrs. Kelly Manno, meeting with eighth graders during Resilience Week. Dr. Norman joined small student discussions about the Holocaust, World War II, and the enduring resilience of the Jewish people, focusing on themes of community, family and survivors.
Throughout the day, Superintendent Norman reinforced a clear message: “Where there is strength, there is unity.”
