MWMS Resilience Week

Monroe-Woodbury Middle School held its fourth annual Resilience Week from March 19-26. Students examined what it means to be resilient by learning about the Holocaust and the concept of moral courage.

Students participated in the following activities:

  • 8th grade students visited the library to experience a traveling museum exhibit on resilience during the Holocaust

  • 7th grade students watched a documentary titled, “The Number on Great-Grandpa’s Arm”

  • 6th grade students participated in a workshop on the Holocaust and moral courage.

This important student initiative was made possible through the district's partnership with the Holocaust Museum and Center for Tolerance and Education, and was paid for by the Jewish Federation of Orange County's Zachor Antisemitism Initiative.
