Big Apple Crunch

Each October, as crisp autumn temperatures arrive and the leaves begin to change, students across New York State join in the annual Big Apple Crunch celebration. Partnering with FarmOn!, Crusaders had the opportunity to sample a variety of fresh apples grown throughout the state.

Students and staff from Central Valley, Pine Tree, and North Main gathered during lunch to participate in the festivities. Yesterday’s featured school was CV and thanks to generous donations from Calhoon Farms, participants tasted red, green, and yellow varieties before casting votes for their top picks.

From sweet to tart and everything in between, the tasting offered a fun and memorable way for everyone to enjoy fresh local produce together.
