Crusaders at MWHS recently marked the 18th anniversary of the Living Ink program. Coinciding with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) National Day of Writing, students decorated the windows in the main lobby with various notes of expression.
Established by the NCTE in 2009, this national program highlights the diverse forms of writing. Living Ink serves as M-W's unique way to honor this mission, celebrating the powerful role writing plays in everyone's life while allowing students and faculty to experience its inherent beauty.
For this year's theme, MWHS embraced the Six-Word Memoir. Students across every English class engaged in the full writing process, guiding their ideas from initial pre-writing concepts to a final product. Each student crafted a six word narrative capturing a pivotal personal moment, illustrating their unique identity and demonstrating that everyone has a meaningful story to tell.
Writing truly is for everyone!
