Monroe-Woodbury welcomes Monroe-Woodbury High School senior Omer Mosker as the 2021-2022 student representative on the Board of Education. In addition to the elected nine members of the Monroe-Woodbury Board of Education, a Monroe-Woodbury High School senior is selected each year to serve as student representative on the Board of Education as an ex officio, non voting member. The student member of the Board of Education serves as the voice of the students by providing brief reports regarding issues of importance to the student body. Welcome, Omer!
Q&A with Omer:
Q: How many years have you been going to school in M-W?
A: I moved to Monroe back in 2017, so almost 5 years.
Q: What activities/sports/organizations are you involved in?
A: I’m a diver on the M-W Varsity Swimming and Diving team. I have been in Student Government for 3 years, including this year as I’m the Vice President.
Q: How do you view the role of BOE Student Representative?
A: As the BOE Student Representative, My role is to represent the whole student body of MWCSD and speak for them. I will give updates to the board about the current conditions of all the students and schools in the district.
Q: What do you hope to accomplish next year as Student BOE Representative?
A: I hope to listen to the students and express their voices at the board meetings in hopes of solutions to certain issues.
