Future Business Leaders of America

The MWHS Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) welcomed over 62 new members during the annual Induction and Installation Ceremony on Thursday, November 4 in the Monroe-Woodbury High School auditorium. In addition, nine chapter officers were installed and honored during a pinning ceremony. 

As part of the event, chapter officers recited the FBLA-PBL Code of Ethics, which exemplifies honesty, responsibility, accountability and acting with respect toward themselves and the school. They also referenced the FBLA Creed, which focuses on education, being productive and preparing for the world of work.  Students were recognized on stage as an active FBLA member and responsible leader after reciting the FBLA pledge. 

The following chapter officers presided over the ceremony: Jeter Sison and Sophia Yoon, Co-Presidents; Rohan Sonakya and Varsha Jegan, Executive Vice Presidents; Khushi Girish and Visakhi Miriyapalli, Vice Presidents of Program of Work; Kyles Torres, Treasurer; YooSup Song, Historian; and Diya Mangatt, Secretary.  In addition, Siddharth Ranganathan, President of the MWMS chapter, was recognized for his accomplishments in placing 1st for Program of Work at the middle level, and new member Slade Carlin was also inducted during the event.

Speakers included Mr. Kaste, HS Principal; Mr. Maesano, MS Principal; and Derek Li, HS Senior and NYS FBLA District 3N Vice President.  Jackie Palkaunieks serves as the the High School adviser and Christopher Conway is the Middle School adviser.
