April 8, 2022

Dear Monroe-Woodbury families and staff,

Our hallways are abuzz with excitement as students participate in and prepare for art shows, athletic and academic competitions, musicals, concerts, science fairs and more. Spring brings new energy to all the buildings!

Before school closes for Spring Recess, I want to share some important updates:

  • Effective Monday, April 11, the access road between MWHS and Central Valley Elementary will be open to public traffic only during HS drop-off (6:00 a.m. - 7:15 a.m.) and pick-up (1:30 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.). The road will be closed for public use at all other times. Safety officers will be on hand to help manage the traffic flow. We have made this change due to ongoing safety concerns related to speeding vehicles and pedestrian traffic.

  • Friday, May 27 is now a day off of school for students and staff, as a result of unused snow days. Check out the updated student calendar. Enjoy the extended Memorial Day Weekend!

  • We are very excited about the remainder of the school year and the wonderful (in-person!) events the district has planned. These include concerts, Junior & Senior Prom, field days, picnics, the District Art Show featuring our senior art majors, moving up ceremonies, and of course, MWHS graduation. We can’t wait to showcase our students and celebrate their hard work.

Enjoy the break. I hope you spend time with family and friends doing something that makes you smile. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to our buildings on Monday, April 18.

Warm regards,

Elsie Rodriguez
