40th Annual Congressional Art Competition 2022

Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, over 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition.

Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney, serving as the U.S. representative from New York's 18th congressional district, sponsors a local competition to select the grand prize winner. The winner will be chosen by a local panel of judges and will be displayed at the United States capitol for a year alongside the artwork of young artists from all over the country.
