Police officer and students image

When Dominick Gonzalez graduated from Monroe-Woodbury High School in 2005, he couldn't have know that he would be returning to the district in an entirely different role 17 years later.

On May 12, Woodbury Police Officer Gonzalez visited Smith Clove Elementary to visit with kindergarten students, read a story, answer questions and remind them that police officers are here to help.

When asked why he had chosen this profession, Officer Gonzalez said, "I wanted to help the community. I wanted to help people in my own way. I was always interested in helping people from a young age. Originally I wanted to be a teacher, and I realized that wasn't my path and decided that policing was a better option for me."

Thank you for visiting our school, Officer Gonzalez, and for sharing important messages with our young students. Once a Crusader, always a Crusader!
