Evan is awesome. A sophomore at Monroe-Woodbury High School, Evan was recently recognized by the New York State PTA Association for his poem, "What Autism Means To Me." In the attached video, Evan reads his poem, which includes important messages for everyone, and shares what he hopes people take away from his message.
Evan, who plays Unified Basketball for M-W, is also a recent recipient of the "Crusader Award," an award given to a player who demonstrates the following characteristics:
- sportsmanship
- teamwork
- great work ethic
- Keeps the team together and motivates them to do better
- leader of the team
