Lauren Andreala

Congratulations to MWHS Senior Lauren Andreala for winning second place in the High School Literary Arts: Narrative Division category of the 25th Annual Siegelbaum Competition, presented by the Holocaust Museum. The theme for this year's competition was "The People Who Inspire Us".

Lauren wrote about her late grandfather, and the lasting influence he has had on her life; "My grandpa was this ray of sunshine, the embodiment of happiness. I could never be sad, hurt or depressed around him, he was the light at the end of a tunnel filled with vast darkness...I think his positivity and kindness is what really motivates me everyday. Every time I feel disappointed or devastated over anything, I find the silver lining".

In her keynote speech, Lauren hoped that by sharing the story of her grandfather's love and support that his legacy would be spread to others and keep his memory alive. We certainly think it has! Congratulations, Lauren!
