On Wednesday, October 29, AV Technician Dana Kerstanski was among school district employees countywide who earned a 2025 Mid-Hudson School Study Council (MHSSC) Award for Excellence in Support Staff Services. Each year, the MHSSC recognizes individuals in the education field who display excellence in their work. Awards were presented to Kerstanski and other honorees at an October 29 celebratory event in Middletown.

Kerstanski plays a key role behind the scenes. Whether he’s setting up the audio visual components for a Board of Education meeting, supporting the Music and Art Departments with their performances and exhibits, or collaborating on The M-Dub Morning Show, Kerstanski proves he is truly multifaceted.

Vice Principal Dr. Kelli Sciarra said, ā€œWhether he is coordinating logistics for assemblies, collaborating and managing logistics for prom and homecoming, or supporting critical events like the mock accident and senior celebrations, Mr. Kerstanski brings insight, innovation and a can-do spirit to every project. He ensures that everything runs smoothly and safely, often anticipating challenges before they arrive.ā€

Congratulations, Mr. Kerstanski! šŸ’œšŸ†

Did you know New York produces about 30 million bushels of apples annually? How ā€˜bout them apples! During lunch today, Crusaders from Central Valley, North Main and Pine Tree joined in the Big Apple Crunch–a statewide celebration of New York’s favorite fruit.

In partnership with the FarmOn! Foundation, students received samples of five different kinds of apples: Granny Smith, Red, Golden, Gala and Fuji. At CVE students even turned it into a mini-taste test, ranking each sample from sweet to most tart, and the reactions were as diverse as the flavors!šŸŽšŸ

Mrs. Breheny and Mrs. Borner were recognized by the family of Stephanie and Nicole Z. Stephanie and Nicole’s family said, ā€œMrs. Borner and Mrs. Breheny have been two of the kindest and loving people to both my girls when their father was sick and when he passed away. Their kindness and warmth are a big part of the reason my girls continued to want to go to school at a time when they could have easily shut down.ā€ Stephanie and Nicole’s mom said, ā€œThere are absolutely no words to adequately thank both of you for how you treated my girls (and me) during our most difficult time in life. There is no handbook for this, and yet you ladies seem to have mastered it with grace and love. You have made a huge impact in our lives, and I am forever grateful.ā€ Thank you, Mrs. Breheny and Mrs. Borner! #attitudeofgratitude #mwfam ā™„ļøšŸ’œ
