In honor of Black History Month (February) and Women's History Month (March), MWHS teacher Ashley Geffner challenged her Earth and Space Science students to choose a notable black and/or female person who falls within the S.T.E.M./S.T.E.A.M. umbrella and create a poster showcasing how this individual has influenced the science community.

Superintendent Norman recently visited students in Mrs. Bulla's "Exploring Teaching as a Profession" class to share about his own career journey in education, experiences as superintendent and to answer questions. Developed in 2017-18 , this class is one of the SUNY Albany college credit opportunities offered at MWHS and gives students the opportunity to take a deeper dive into the roles of teachers in public education.
"My mom instilled in me that education was important. I watched my mother model teaching for years, I valued education and I have a passion for helping people. I decided I wanted to be a teacher. I chose a path of elementary education and it was one of the better choices of my life."
~ Dr. Norman
