Students from Mr. Vero's First Aid and CPR classes had a hands-on learning experience when they traveled to Touro Medical College to tour the campus, shadow medical students, and learn about different medical career pathways. The highlight of the trip for many of the students was when they worked in the Human Anatomy laboratory. It was an experience they will never forget.

Congratulations to MWHS student Veronica Wolnicki who will compete at the Upstate Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (JSHS) competition hosted by the Rochester Institute for Technology on Feb. 1. This STEM competition, supported by the Department of Defense, challenges high school students to achieve and build skills that prepare them for college and careers. Participants perform original STEM research, showcase their findings in an oral presentation or research poster, and compete for both scholarships and invitations to represent the region at the National JSHS event. More than 1,000 high school students applied and only 48 oral presenters were selected for the in-person regional event. We’re so proud of you, Veronica!👏💜

If you are considering attending a 2-year, community college after graduation, do not miss this chance to complete your application for free during your lunch period. Admissions Representatives from each school will answer questions, waive the application fee and help you submit your application. It is that easy! Each CC offers something special...maybe a major that is not at the other two campuses (for example aviation or auto mechanic), maybe it's dorming and living on campus. Whatever it is, talk to the admissions reps and apply! You can apply to more than one, but you CANNOT miss this opportunity!

The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Council of Orange County (ADAC) and POW’R Against Tobacco combined efforts to educate MWMS students about the dangers of smoking and vaping. During lunch periods, the organizations joined students to celebrate the Great American Smoke-out, sharing valuable information about the harmful effects of tobacco and vaping on the body. The sessions also highlighted the predatory marketing tactics used by the tobacco industry to target young people. Students actively participated and earned prizes while learning how to make healthy choices. 🚭💪
