Don't forget! Back to school!
Crusaders, take lunch off your to-do list! We’re happy to remind you that breakfast and lunch are available to all students at no cost to families each school day! No need to pack lunch (or breakfast). Our food service professional team is here to provide students with nutritious, balanced meals to help them learn, grow, and succeed.

If your child prefers to bring lunch from home, they are still welcome to take milk, fruit, vegetable, grain, and/or protein at no cost to complement their meal—our "Sidekick" meal.

We also offer convenient grab-and-go breakfast options that students can enjoy at school or save for later. Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s health and learning—because every student deserves access to wholesome meals to be ready to learn each day.🥣🥪

If you have any questions, please email foodforthought@mw.k12.ny.us or call (845) 460-6200 ext 10159.

Before the break, MWMS math teachers Ms. Gower and Ms. Beneat held a "Spring Recess Sprint" for eighth graders. In small groups, students participated by finding hidden eggs in the recess area, containing either a piece of candy or a math problem.

If the egg held a math problem, the team solved it collaboratively, had it approved by a teacher, and a new student searched for the next egg. If it held candy, a new student immediately searched for the next egg. A bunny was even spotted, encouraging everyone to "hop to it!"🐰✖️➗

The MWMS Art Club supported the Drama Club for their spring production of Into the Woods Junior. The Art Club meets on Tuesdays and many students volunteered every week in January and February to create Fairy Tale Posters for the play. These students had creative liberty and their final products were stunning. The posters were displayed in the auditorium during the performances and students were gifted a free ticket for the production. Students' names were also listed in the PlayBill. Great collaboration, Crusaders!🎨🎭💜

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, nine Monroe-Woodbury teams from five schools applied their knowledge and participated in the 47th annual Odyssey of the Mind competition.

Teams competed in five different problems that encompass vehicle, technical, classics, structure and theatrical. Each team received its problem in early October and then constructed props and mechanisms to prepare the best solution to the challenge. The tasks include a skit or performance that is an original creation. The Middle School team led by Coach McInerney and Coach Rivera took top honors in their problem #2 (technical) performance and will be moving on to the state competition on March 21 in Syracuse!

Congratulations to all M-W Odyssey of the Mind participants!

MWMS students proudly represented our school at the National Association of Secondary School Principals Leadership Experience and Development (LEAD) Conference in Washington, D.C. from February 27–March 1.

At this national event, members of the National Junior Honor Society participated in hands-on leadership development, strengthened their skills, and connected with peers from across the country.

The 76 students also toured the US Capitol Building and enjoyed an evening visit to the iconic monuments. We are so proud of their leadership and the way they represented Monroe-Woodbury! 🇺🇸
