Happy Friyay has turned into Happy Pi Day (3.14) and the best way to celebrate is to announce new math champions! Congratulations to the Monroe-Woodbury Middle School math team for earning first place at the 24-25 Mid-Hudson Junior Math League playoff meet. Malik Ahmed, RJ. Andreala, Carter Person, Ava Sethna, Devansh Shah and Jacob Yoon proudly hoisted their trophy and awards over their heads as they celebrated their victory. Excellent work, Crusaders!

Congratulations to MWMS sixth grade student Piper Gilpin! Piper is the grand prize winner of this year’s Alcohol and Drug Awareness Council of Orange County (ADAC) Substance Use Prevention poster contest! Piper is the first winner from the MWCSD to win the essay portion. She will be one of 160 students from Orange County to be honored at two separate award ceremonies, where she will receive the Orange County Executive Youth Bureau award. Great job, Piper!

The MWHS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter will be hosting its annual blood drive on Friday, March 14. We're just 62 donations away from reaching a milestone of 5,000 donations through our drives. Since each pint can save 3 lives, our Crusaders have already helped save over 15,000 lives! At the February 19 Board of Education meeting, 8th grade twins Hailee and Madison Lendor were recognized for their incredible act of kindness toward a neighbor in need. The twins, with help from family, friends and neighbors, baked and sold 126 dozen cookies to raise money for a displaced family. Now that's the heart of a Crusader!

As we wrap up National School Counselor Appreciation Week, we celebrate all our hardworking and dedicated counselors who go the extra mile for Monroe-Woodbury students every day!



Due to forecasts calling for prolonged wintry weather conditions, all Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 6. The Club Kid program and all after school activities are canceled. Out-of-district students will not be transported.


The Monroe-Woodbury Music Boosters Scholarship program seeks to reward those select students in grades 4-12 who demonstrate outstanding musicianship and success in their dedication to music. These students’ confidence and passion for learning music will be apparent in Chorus, Band, Orchestra, or any combination of these ensembles. Scholarships will be presented to winners during each school’s spring concerts. Scholarships are cash awards, with the amounts to be determined depending on the number of winners.
