MWMS sixth grade students attended a Birds of Prey assembly to highlight the concepts from their ecology unit. Students saw predatory birds like owls, hawks and falcons and learned about the birds' adaptations that made them best suited for their environment. Students also learned about their importance and niche. There was an emphasis on what students can do to help protect these organisms. What a great learning experience for our sixth graders!🪶🦉😀

MWMS student Anushka Chandyok has earned recognition at the state level for her poem, "Color," as part of the National PTA Reflections program. Anushka was named NYS Reflections winner in the literature category for the middle school division. In her artist statement, Anushka said, "This poem expresses individuality, empowerment, and diversity. I am hopeful because my color does not define me, as I have high dreams and hopes that I can accomplish with courage. Color actually shapes the canvas of my life!" Congratulations, Anushka! Bravo!🖊👏🌟

Hats off to the varsity baseball team! The modified baseball team received a surprise visit from senior varsity players during a practice last week. As a welcoming gesture, seniors presented Crusader baseball hats to the modified players, a welcoming gesture. Senior members then spent time with the younger players, sharing the significance of wearing a Crusader ball cap. Another tradition that supports #crusaderpride. 🧢⚾️🙌

Our ⭐️s in the Transportation Department were featured in a recent issue of School Bus Ride Magazine! Bravo!🎉🚌😁 • Monroe-Woodbury Central School District Submitted by: Kathleen A. Martin, 19-A Examiner/Trainer To show our appreciation for our drivers we have created a bulletin board with safety slogans and inspirational messages in each bus window. We have also created a fun quiz contest. Any employee can take a ticket. On each ticket I ask a bus safety related question each week. Every Friday we pick a random ticket with the correct answer to the question and that person wins a prize. Love the Bus is about inspiring people, caring about our employees and showing appreciation for all we do to keep our students safe and ready to learn each and every day.
