On Wednesday, February 14, the Monroe-Woodbury school community will wear red in recognition of Heart Health Month. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. M-W is wearing red as a reminder to our families to take care of cardiovascular health. Go red, M-W!

The MWHS and MWMS libraries will welcome award-winning author A.S. King on Wednesday, February 7. Students in grades 8-12 will have the opportunity to meet with Ms. King and learn more about her journey as an author. Ms. King is the only author to win the Printz Award (the biggest award in young adult literature) twice, for The Collectors: Stories (2024) and Dig (2022). Stay tuned for a follow-up story after she visits with students!


M-W schools closed - Friday, January 19. Due to inclement weather, Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 19, 2024. YMCA Club Kid and all after school activities are canceled. Out-of-district students will not be transported today. Stay warm, M-W!


All Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, due to icy road conditions and extremely low overnight temperatures. This extra time in the morning will allow crews to treat roads and complete clean-up to ensure safe travel for our students and staff.
The start of the academic day will be as follows:
M-W High School – 9:08 a.m. start time
M-W Middle School – 10:15 a.m. start time (AM classes will begin at 9:25 a.m.)
Sapphire and Smith Clove – 10:30 a.m. start time
Central Valley, North Main and Pine Tree – 11:15 a.m. start time
Students will be picked up at bus stops approximately two hours later than usual. All buses, both in and out-of-district, will operate on the specified delay schedule.
All CTE programs at BOCES will be bussed based on the Monroe-Woodbury schedule. Students will not be charged for absence from BOCES if buses are not available. BOCES delayed opening cancels morning CTE programs.

Based on the forecast for an extended period of snow, sleet and frigid temperatures tonight through tomorrow evening, which will impact the District’s ability to safely transport students, all Monroe-Woodbury schools will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16.

Due to the forecast for an extended period of heavy rains, high winds and mixed precipitation, all Monroe-Woodbury students will be dismissed early today, Tuesday, January 9, to give our transportation team sufficient time to safely transport all students.
Dismissal times for each building are as follows:
M-W High School – 10:30 a.m. dismissal
UPK - 11:10 a.m. dismissal
M-W Middle School – 11:37 a.m. dismissal
Sapphire and Smith Clove (K-1) – 11:45 a.m. dismissal

UPDATE: M-W schools now closed today, December 18, 2023
Due to the extended weather event and widespread flooding of roadways, all Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices are now closed today, Monday, December 18, 2023.
High school students and those middle school students who came to school for early classes will be transported home with a dismissal time of 10:30 a.m. There are no afternoon BOCES classes. All after school activities and Club Kid are canceled. Concerts will be rescheduled.
