40 years go by in a blink of an eye...just ask Lois Ann Hayes, a retired M-W teacher who returned to the classroom this year to fill a leave position in the MS. Ms. Hayes began teaching during the 1983-84 school year and spent much of her career shaping young lives in M-W. Once a Crusader. Always a Crusader. 🤗💜⭐️ #mwlegacy #crusaderpride #mwinspiresuccess

The MWHS and MWMS libraries will welcome award-winning author A.S. King on Wednesday, February 7. Students in grades 8-12 will have the opportunity to meet with Ms. King and learn more about her journey as an author.
Ms. King is the only author to win the Printz Award (the biggest award in young adult literature) twice, for The Collectors: Stories (2024) and Dig (2022). Stay tuned for a follow-up story after she visits with students!

Mr. Foley wears many hats at M-W!😀 In addition to serving as a school safety officer at Smith Clove, he and his lovely wife spread Christmas cheer throughout our community by dressing up as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.🎅🏻🤶🏻 Their only request is that anyone who wishes donate money to a charity of their choice. This year, The Cozy Café at MWHS was the blessed recipient of more than $6,000 in donations raised by Mr. and Mrs. Foley. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity! Our students are so grateful!💜🙏

It takes a village! The wintry weather conditions have been a bit tricky to navigate this week, and our M-W team has done an outstanding job of preparing buildings and parking lots to ensure students and staff are able to safely travel to school. Special thanks to our transportation team, working closely with the Department of Public Works, for traveling the roads in the early morning hours to help us make decisions in the best interest of our school community.
We are grateful for all you do behind the scenes.

All Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, due to icy road conditions and extremely low overnight temperatures. The start of the academic day will be as follows:

M-W Middle School – 10:15 a.m. start time (AM classes will begin at 9:25 a.m.)

Central Valley, North Main and Pine Tree – 11:15 a.m. start time

Based on the forecast for an extended period of snow, sleet and frigid temperatures tonight through tomorrow evening, which will impact the District’s ability to safely transport students, all Monroe-Woodbury schools will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16.
We hope this advance notice helps our families plan accordingly. Stay warm and safe, Crusaders!
