On Thursday, April 30, the MWHS World Languages Honor Society welcomed 79 new members to the National Spanish Honor Society, National Italian Honor Society and National French Honor Society. Inductees received certificates and recited the Oath of Membership at a ceremony held at MWHS. Congratulations to the new inductees!🇪🇸🇮🇹🇫🇷

MWHS hosted their annual Wellness Fair, which featured local vendors who introduced students to new ways to relax, renew and build healthier daily routines. Sponsored by the Student Council and Health Education Department, this event was open to all students and served as a reminder to take care of themselves and look out for each other. 🙂💜

Students at North Main Elementary had the honor of welcoming celebrated author and illustrator Angela Dominguez. A New York Times Bestseller, a Sid Fleischman Humor Award winner, and a two-time Pura Belpré Illustration Honoree, Ms. Dominguez captivated students with the story of her journey from Mexico City to North Texas. She shared her experiences learning a new language and encouraged students to explore their own creativity. 📖💜

Mr. Vero's High School CPR and First Aid classes had the pleasure of visiting the Orange County 911 and Emergency Operations Center. Our future lifesavers had the opportunity to tour the facilities, learn about emergency response coordination, and see first hand how the hardworking men and women at this facility keep our community safe! 💜

The eagerly awaited Monroe-Woodbury Annual K-12 District Art Show will be held from Friday, May 2, through Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Monroe-Woodbury High School lobby. The event features amazing artwork from talented Senior Art Major portfolios, many of whom were inspired by their early experiences in elementary and middle school. The show will also feature select projects from students of all grades.

OPENING RECEPTION - Friday, May 2 - 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
EMPTY BOWLS PROJECT - Friday, May 2 - 5:30 p.m. The “Empty Bowls” project is a favorite part of the Opening Reception. Ceramics students and staff have created a variety of hand-made ceramic bowls for guests to choose from and to keep as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world. Guests are asked to make a donation of $10. All proceeds support a local food bank.

Mark your calendars! As a result of unused inclement weather days, all Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will be closed for students and staff on Friday, May 23, 2025. Out-of-district students will be transported on May 23 if their programs are open.
As planned, the school district will be closed on Monday, May 26, in honor of Memorial Day and we will welcome students back to the buildings on Tuesday, May 27. 💜


OPERATION SAFE STOP DAY in NYS is on Thursday, April 24. During “Safe Stop,” police officers are on board school buses and in marked and unmarked patrol units on selected bus routes that have a history of illegal passing complaints. Some of Monroe-Woodbury Central School District’s buses will be participating in this initiative. MWHS Senior Art Majors and Art History students went on a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. The rainy weather didn't dampen their spirits! These Crusaders had a wonderful time exploring the museum and getting to see artworks studied in class up close and personal.

Members of the MWHS Students Teaching Advocacy and Resilience Skills club (STARS) visited North Main to share important messages with fifth grade students. They talked about making good choices, being a good friend and standing up to bullying. Through interactive activities, STARS students showed our young Crusaders that being kind matters.🤗🌟💜
