
Joseph Tripodo, MWCSD Director of Security and Emergency Preparedness, welcomed New York State Police officers to schools this week. The Athletic Club and the Student Leadership Committee (SLC) recently sponsored a volleyball tournament to provide HS students with an opportunity for some friendly competition and social interaction. In lieu of an entry fee, all participating students were asked to bring in non-perishable food items that were donated to our community food pantry. A total of 13 teams and 74 students participated in the 2 hour event and more than 150 cans were donate to the food bank. Students had a great time and more events are in the works for the future. Kudos to students Liam Gaffney and Jules Johannemann (SLC) “getting the ball rolling” and to the Athletic Club who assisted with logistics. 🏐😁🥫

April 1 is the last day to submit 2023-2024 Babysitter/Childcare Transportation Requests. If your child will go to a location other than home next year for before or after school care, the Transportation Department must have your request form this week. Check website for details.


MWMS is aBUZZ after two of our magnificent students had a strong showing at the annual Regional Spelling Bee on 3/16. Congrats to 7th grader Johan D., who outspelled 9 spellers, and 8th grader Izgi B., who tied for second with two other spellers. Very impressive, Crusaders!🐝🌟👏

Here's to a successful inaugural esports match! M-W played Boquet Valley Central School District and won 3-0 in the school's first-ever Rocket League Match. M-W won Map 1: 9-1, Map 2: 10-0 and Map 3: 11-1.🌟 Congrats to players Jamison Detty, James McCormick and Bryan Gee! Detty scored 28 Goals, 1 assist and 2 saves; McCormick scored 2 goals, 1 assist and 1 save; and Gee scored 1 Goal and 2 assists. What a memorable start, Crusaders! Schools will dismiss on the following schedule on both days:
M-W High School – 10:30 a.m. dismissal
M-W Middle School – 11:37 a.m. dismissal
Sapphire and Smith Clove (K-1) – 11:45 a.m. dismissal
Central Valley, North Main, Pine Tree – 12:45 p.m. dismissal
Buses can be expected to arrive at bus stops 3 hours earlier than usual.


Pine Tree will present a Multicultural Event from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in our Cafetorium. Everyone is welcome to attend with the whole family. All Pine Tree families are also invited to share the culture of their ancestor’s homeland. Check the Pine Tree website for details.
