Did you know New York produces about 30 million bushels of apples annually? How ‘bout them apples! During lunch today, Crusaders from Central Valley, North Main and Pine Tree joined in the Big Apple Crunch–a statewide celebration of New York’s favorite fruit.

In partnership with the FarmOn! Foundation, students received samples of five different kinds of apples: Granny Smith, Red, Golden, Gala and Fuji. At CVE students even turned it into a mini-taste test, ranking each sample from sweet to most tart, and the reactions were as diverse as the flavors!🍎🍏

OH SO FLUFFY! Smith Clovers were treated to a special visit today from Robbie’s Ranch. Smiles and infectious laughter filled the front yard as students got to pet turtles, iguanas, rabbits, goats, and even a llama! Watch out though, cuddly “security” was on high alert! 🐶🥰

Fall fun was in full swing as the MWHS Outdoor Club took their third annual pumpkin picking trip to Soons Orchards. It was a picture perfect day to share laughs and make memories. 🎃

The MWHS Kids Changing the World Club (KCW) was formed to help kids learn the value of giving back to their community while participating in local events and learning valuable life lessons.

This fall, their activities included working with special needs kids in an adaptive sports program through the Beautiful People organization in Warwick. They also volunteered for the first time in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's in Montgomery, which took place on October 25.

This week, Little Miracles got a special visit from Bella the Bus! 🚌Veteran driver Ms. Kim, along with select MWHS students taught our youngest Crusaders all about bus safety–and they even got to hop aboard for a ride! ☺️

October 23-31 is Red Ribbon Week! Monroe-Woodbury students and staff will participate in activities, uniting to take a stand against drug use.

Red Ribbon’s 2025 theme “Life is a Puzzle, Solve it Drug Free,” encourages individuals to play their part in fostering safe, healthy and drug-free communities while helping students make positive decisions.

Smiling faces, loud cheers and spontaneous dancing filled Sapphire’s auditorium as students were treated to a very special assembly by Beth & Scott and Friends. Happy Friyay! A special reunion took place yesterday at North Main between Mrs. Veronica Kaleta and former student Cameron Brown! Cameron is now a firefighter with Lakeside Fire & Rescue Co. in Monroe and visited the school to teach fire prevention techniques to second and third grade students. October 5 -11 is Fire Safety Week and our younger Crusaders learned some very important lessons about staying safe in an emergency. Firefighters from the Monroe Joint Fire District (Mombasha Fire Company, Harriman Engine Company and Lakeside Fire and Rescue Company) visited elementary schools in the district to help spread awareness about fire safety.

Led by Firefighter Sean Glander of Lakeside Fire & Rescue Co., students toured fire trucks, received hands-on demonstrations about what to do if they see or smell smoke, and how to call for help during an emergency. Firefighters also demonstrated how their uniforms keep them safe when there is a fire.

When it comes to safety, it’s always best to be prepared! 🧑‍🚒

Art has a special way of bringing people together. Our National Art Honor Society students experienced this firsthand during a visit to the Monroe Senior Center to lead a fall-themed painting party. While working on their “gourd-geous” creations, students and seniors swapped stories, creativity, and a whole lot of laughter. Even Superintendent Norman stopped by to participate in the fun! 🎨🖌️☺️
