In Mrs. Leach's 3rd grade classroom, a group of young scientists explored various animal species, including ants, ducks, fish, cheetahs, and beavers, oh my! These scientists learned how ants can communicate by only using scent to work together and bring food back to the colony. With such a strong sense of smell, let’s hope they don’t come across anything stinky! 😯 🐜

The MWHS SADD Club is one of 12 chapters that has partnered with NYS SADD and State Farm Insurance to create awareness and change for safe driving practices. The club is in its SADD ERA (paying homage to Taylor Swift's ERAS tour), promoting Passenger Safety and Safety is Love. On Valentine's Day, they hosted a table during lunch periods where students, staff and faculty could create and share friendship bracelets and Valentine's Day Cards.🚗💝

REMINDER: If you would like your child to be included in the lottery for the Universal Pre-kindergarten program, please complete the online Interest Form found on the district website. The submission deadline is today, Tuesday, February 13. Each child's name will be placed in a random lottery and all families will be notified of their child’s status once the lottery has been held. Any student not selected in the lottery will be placed on a waiting list. 💜

UPK interest form reminder
According to SkyGuard Notification System, an AccuWeather service that prepares forecasts exclusively for the Monroe-Woodbury Transportation Department, steady snow is expected to start in the early morning hours and fall throughout the afternoon. Based on this forecast, all M-W schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. YMCA Club Kid, Community Swim and all after school activities are canceled. Out-of-district students will not be transported. The HS Prisms Concert has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 15, at 7 p.m. We hope this advance notice gives our families time to make alternative arrangements for their children. Stay safe and warm, M-W!
